Pond Study
You will visit one of the ponds at Cliffe House and carefully dip for animals with your partner working as a team. You will then take your catch back to the classroom to discover what you have caught. This may involve using keys to identify your animals, microscopes to view them more closely and record sheets to record what you have caught.
Here children are learning how to use a key before looking at their animals.
Using microscopes during an evening follow up session to study pond animals
If time allows (or in the evening follow up time) you may be able to do a detailed study on some of your animals including sketches and model making.
